Spielmobile e.V. funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, call for letters of interest for a participation in the project “Willkommenskultur durch Spiel – Spielmobile an Flüchtlingsunterkünften” (Welcoming Culture Through Play – Playbuses in Refugee Accommodation Centres). All projects with a focus on mobile playing culture in Germany are invited to express their interest and come forward with project ideas for playing culture activities in refugee accommodation centres or in respective social areas.
All children want to play! Playbuses have developed diverse playing activities and programmes. Now, these must be adapted to the particular situation of refugee children and their families. Playing activities are to become a part of the integration efforts. They should have a connection to the social area in and around refugee accommodation centres. The long-term goal is for refugee children to get acquainted with their district and the children who live there.
What is to be done?
Implementation of half- or full-day regularly recurring events with a focus on play and culture education for children in refugee accommodation centres based on the outlined framework specifications and according to the professional standards of Spielmobile e.V.
Depending on the situation in the centres and the different framework conditions of the playbuses and municipalities, different intervals make sense. A minimum of 15 events is to be organised within a certain timeframe.
Expression of interest:
Playbuses apply to Spielmobile e.V. with an outline of their project, based on the template Letter of Interest and the project planing. Additionally, they have to provide information on objectives, execution, elaboration and evaluation. A maximum of 20,000 euros is eligible, the total sum of the application can be higher (a maximum of 40,000 euros). As soon as the first 20,000 euros have been cleared, additional monies can be granted. Please see annotations on funding models here.
The submitted letters of interest are evaluated and form the basis for an agreement with Spielmobile e.V. on the implementation of the project. In 2019 and 2020, Spielmobile e.V. will be able to fund projects with refugee children with an amount of approx. one million euros per year. Playing activities are meant to increasingly take place in the public sphere. The delimitation of regular projects and playing activities is scrutinised more strictly when it comes to activities in the public sphere (additionality). Furthermore, an average of at least 16 children has to participate (all activities considered). Projects can be funded until 31 December 2019. In 2019, no subsequent applications will be considered. Subsequent applications will be possible in 2020 (with projects running until 30 September 2020). Please do not apply using old templates as these will not be taken in account.
